# Brief History of EYESOME
Eyesome (아이썸, company website) was established in 2005 as a cosmetics manufacturer and achieved various certificates, approvals, and partnerships in the same year: CGMP certificate, certification for R&D center, certified venture company, and academic collaboration with Daegu Haany University.
However, because of conflicts among shareholders of the company, Eyesome did not make a good presence in the market until 2008 and deficits accumulated had got bigger.
In 2009, Eyesome appointed Heo Nam-Mok, an enginee with just a high-school degree, as the CEO and it was the beginning of Eyesome growing in the cosmetics manufacturing industry.
The CEO Heo Nam-Mok led the company efficiently and Eyesome's annual sales grew 3 times bigger in 2010 and turned the company into profit-maker.
They earned international certificates such as ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems) in the same year in 2009 and then received another certificate ISO 22716 (Good Manufacturing Practices, GMP) in 2013.
Eyesome also expanded their business to overseas such as Taiwan and Japan to broaden sales channels.
# Reliable Manufacturing Abilities
Although the management atmosphere was not good at the beginning, Eyesome still had a good team and good manufacturing equipment.
Eyesome's Researchers had experience at LG, Kolmar Korea, Rami Cosmetics, etc. which were such a major cosmetics company at the time and they tried hard to make new and good formulas.
After CEO Heo Nam-Mok appointed, those fundamentals became a key feature to grow with reliable manufacturing management.
"Although it took some time for me to understand the cosmetics manufacturing industry, it was not that hard as Eyesome already had a good team and facilities with experience to make good products. Those fundamentals could lead us to become a global manufacturer."
AS he also had experience of exporting products while working in mechanical engineering, Eyesome sought to new market early.
# Become Oxygen Development Korea
In 2017 November, EYESOME is acquired by a US based global cosmetics manufacturer Oxygen Development.
As Oxygen Development has been performing lots of global trend researches, this acquisition can help both companies grow with mutual benefits.Vegan formula of Oxygen Development and their presence in the US can help Eyesome better prepare for US FDA procedure, which means Eyesome can export the the US with experience of Oxygen Development too.
*Oxygen Development decided to leave its name Eyesome after the acquisition, but they are also known as Oxygen Development Korea since the acquisition.
Also the company announced that they would appoint a new CEO Kim Mi-Ok after the acquisition, no further explanation revealed on their former CEO Heo Nam-Mok.
