They produce various cosmetics items like skin care, make up, body & hair, etc. mostly for those brands under Amorepacific group like Innisfree, Etude House, eSpoir, Mamonde.There are not that much information of COSVISION until 2011 when Amorepacific Group officially acquired the company.
However, since Ha Yong-Chul (former head of Amorepacific Suwon factory & current director of Kolmar Korea) was appointed as the CEO of COSVISION in 2008, we may assume that the company was founded with a connection with Amorepacific since its beginning.COSVISION was officially acquired by Amorepacific Group in Oct 2011.
According to the public announcement from Amorepacific, COSVISION's annual sales was US$33 million and annual operating profit was US$1.3 million in 2010.
However, Amorepacific announced that they acquired COSVISION at only US$ 0.5 million.Also as 100% sales of COSVISION was generated from business with Amorepacific-related brands, it may explain that the company was practically owned by Amorepacific before the acquisition.
COSVISION started growing very quickly after the acquisition.
Its annual sales was US$37 million in 2011 and it grew almost 300% within 4 years to US$146 million in 2015.
During the growing period, COSVISION stably produced products for Amorepacific group's brands (Etude House, Innisfree, Mamonde, Hanyul, Odyssey, eSpoir, Aestra, etc.) and Amorepacific could reduce item production costs through COSVISION.
With Amorepacific's experienced know-how and popularity around the world, COSVISION have been able to improve their abilities on production, research, and operation.
In 2008, COSVISION acquired ISO 9001 (Quality management system) and ISO 14001 (Environmental management systems) certificates.
They also acquired CGMP certificate in 2011 and organic cosmetics production certificate (ECO-CERT) in 2013 as well.As they share internal regulation and IT system with Amorepacific, they are know for their very conservative and strict regulatory tests and quality inspection with high-end ERP system.
COSVISION is not much known for its ODM business as they only produce brands of Amorepacific and it is quite hard for those customers who like to test new brands and items to try products made by COSVISION for new brands.
Also some others add negative comments that COSVISION has grown through internal transactions only and it only helps Amorepacific's business, not the cosmetics industry.
Although their business may not be for every brand, it still is good for customers as they can improve their professional production quality level with reliable business structure under Amorepacific which makes them provide better products to customers (through Amorepacific group's brands though).
